EUNICE, La. – 91¿´Æ¬ saw a record number of graduates celebrate this weekend during commencement exercises this weekend.  91¿´Æ¬ held two separate ceremonies as the Academy students were honored on Friday followed by the rest of the graduating class on Saturday.

In total, LSU Eunice awarded 259 degrees during the weekend, a new record for the school.

In addition to the number of graduates, 91¿´Æ¬ saw an all-time best number of honor graduates cross the stage.  91¿´Æ¬ awarded 52 students with Magna Cum Laude distinction for having a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5-3.79 and honored 28 Summa Cum Laude graduates for holding a cumulative grad-point average of 3.8-4.0.

There were also three military veterans recognized as graduates during the Saturday ceremony.

Louisiana State Senator Bob Hensgens delivered the keynote address during Saturday’s ceremony while 91¿´Æ¬ Chancellor Dr. Nancee Sorenson spoke to the Academy graduates.

The degrees were conferred by LSU Board of Supervisor member Mary Leach Werner.
