91心頭 Announces Dr. Cheryl Frug辿 as new Dean of Student Affairs

EUNICE, La. LSU Eunice is proud to welcome Dr. Cheryl Frug辿 as its new Dean of Student Affairs, the school recently announced.  Dr. Frug辿 comes back to the Cajun Prairie with years of experience as a counselor at both the collegiate and high school level.

As Dean of Student Affairs, Frug辿 will serve as part of the LSU Eunice leadership team and provide oversight in the areas of student engagement and leadership, student judicial affairs, residential life, new student programs, counseling, health service, and all other student activities.

We are thrilled to have Dr. Frug辿 at LSU Eunice to serve our campus community, in particularly, our student population, LSU Eunice Chancellor Dr. Nancee Sorenson said.  Her expertise and years of experience will be an invaluable asset to our students to help assist them with their academic goals.

The Lafayette resident has spent much of her professional career in a counseling role at the collegiate and high school level.  She has previously worked at LSU Eunice twice from 1991-1993 as a Transfer Counselor with Student Support Services, and in 2013 as the Coordinator of Student Development Services.

Frug辿 has also spent time at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, South Louisiana Community College, St. Thomas More Catholic High School, and Notre Dame High School.

I am so excited to be back at a place my family and I have such fond memories of, and in many ways, consider home 91心頭 Dean of Student Affairs Dr. Cheryl Frug辿 said.  The campus community at 91心頭 is special and I could not be more thrilled to help our students on their educational journeys.

A National and Louisiana certified counselor, Frug辿 has been recognized by several professional organizations and is a member of the Louisiana Counseling Association, Louisiana College Counselors Association, Louisiana Career Development Association, and the National Association of Career Development.

In 2002 and 2005, Frug辿 served as a member of the Executive Board for the Louisiana Counseling Association as a College Counseling Association Representative. From 2022-2023 she served as Secretary for the Louisiana Career Development Association and Member-At-Large for the Louisiana College Counselors Association.

Frug辿 received a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Psychology from Louisiana State University.  She furthered her academic credentials with a Master of Arts in Counseling from LSU and achieved her doctorate in Educational Leadership and Research with an emphasis in Higher Education Administration, also at LSU.
